Bag a Week: Polka Dot Tote

This week's Blag a Bag is a little late, but worth the wait, I think. It's a simple colour-block tote, with long handles and a super cute red and white polka dot print.

 

It's 12"x12"x6", so it's fairly sizeable, though you probably can't really tell that from the images alone.

The handles are a little bit weak, since they're so skinny, but this is the first time I've tried to do handles set like this. I've always seen purchaseable bag handles in this style, but had never made them before.

The inside has no pockets, but I had enough polka dot fabric to line the entire length of the bag, with the grey at the bottom for visual effect.

I wish I had stopped to add zippers and stronger handles; even though this was mostly a handle-construction experiment, it turned out super cute!
